From the cradle of coffee

Gabriel de Clieu was brave and fought to the end in every step of his way until he reached his goal. He succeeded in 1723 to bring a coffee tree from the Jardin des Plantes in Paris on the island of Martinique and thus to lay the foundation of coffee cultivation.

Francisco de Melo Palheta discovered that love is the way. He was a spy who had been ordered to steal some coffee from French Guiana, but was stopped every time. When he used his charm to seduce the wife of the French governor, she became his ally. She handed him the coffee seeds directly in front of her husband's nose in a bouquet of flowers.
